Rachel Phipps

Born in Fishers, IN, Rachel Phipps began her training at the age of 13 at the Clara R. Noyes Academy of Ballet Internationale. At the age of 15, she continued her training at the Russian Ballet Academy of Indiana and graduated in 2009. She joined the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre in 2003 as a student company dancer. Her repertoire with that company included My Gypsy Soul, Dracula, Amore, The Gypsy Vampires of Drakov, Ooh La La, Encore, and Superhero.

Phipps compted in the Youth America Grand Prix 2005-2009 and won 1st place Ensemble with the ensemble piece "Chopiniana" at regionals 2006 in Greenville, SC, and qualified as Top 12 Contemporary Solos with the piece, "In Balance", at the regionals 2006 in Greensillve, SC. She also won the Best Ensembles Award with ensemble pieces "Mazurka", "Metaphor on the Floor", and "Divertissement" at the regionals 2009 in Chicago, IL.

Phipps joined the Indiana Ballet Company in August 2009. Her repertoire with the Company includes Chopiniana, The Nutcracker, Phantom of the Opera, and From Shakespeare with Love.
